About Hannah Freedom School

Now in its 13th year, Hannah Freedom School (HFS) is a program of the Hannah Project Partnership and is a full day six-week summer educational enrichment program for low-income children of color in grades 3-8. Although focused on children from Marin City, the program is open to children from throughout Marin. Serving 100 -150 students annually, tests have shown more than 85% of Hannah Freedom School scholars experience no summer reading loss and 76% actually have fluency and comprehension gains of more than six months. The program will operate at Dr. Martin Luther King Jr. Academy in Marin City.

NEW this year-Freedomschool2.  Freedomschool2 builds on our successful HFS history and will offer leadership development and service-learning program for high school aged students that will prepare these enrollees to work as Junior Servant Leaders during Hannah Freedom School in the summer.
